Evidence over opinion
We gather and analyze real data to inform recommendations that hold up to scrutiny. The point is not a deliverable — it is a decision your organization can stand behind.

About
Our story
Kathy Koehler launched Koehler Partners in 2010 after a decade at Crowe LLP and earlier roles inside Indiana state government. She started the firm on a clear premise: consulting should be about listening carefully, thinking rigorously, and showing up as a partner — not a vendor.
Fifteen years in, that premise is unchanged. KP has grown into a team working across project management, stakeholder engagement, training and technical assistance, program evaluation, and a newer software practice. We still choose engagements where we can do useful, meaningful work for clients who care about improving services for their constituents.
“Good consulting is knowing when to push, when to listen, and when to get out of the way.”
How we work
Three principles that show up in every engagement — whether we are evaluating a $40M government program or training a leadership team of twelve.
We gather and analyze real data to inform recommendations that hold up to scrutiny. The point is not a deliverable — it is a decision your organization can stand behind.
Every KP project is led by a principal consultant. You work directly with the people doing the analysis — not a revolving cast of juniors.
Our clients come back. Some have worked with KP for more than a decade. We show up ready to be useful — not to upsell.
Our founder
Kathy founded Koehler Partners in 2010 after more than twenty years across the public, nonprofit, and private sectors — including a decade at Crowe LLP, where she led engagements to improve state and local government in human services, workforce, education, and public safety. Koehler’s work focuses heavily on government services, most often in health and human services.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Public Affairs from the Indiana University O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Her professional credentials include the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, certified MBTI® facilitator, and an ATD training certificate.

Founder & President
Two things I know to expect anytime I work with Kathy Koehler - I'm going to learn something, and I'm going to enjoy it. It's amazing how much you can accomplish when working with people who care as much as you do about the outcomes.
KP in the community
The firm’s commitment to our community shapes how we choose engagements, whom we hire, and how we spend the time outside of our client projects.
KP consultants serve on the boards of several Indiana nonprofits — in local government, public health, youth development, and animal welfare organizations.
KP’s Community Service Committee identifies nonprofit organizations in Central Indiana where staff can volunteer to make a difference for families in our community.
Each year, KP sponsors and supports fundraising events for local nonprofits doing important work.
KP provides high-impact, short-term consulting services at partially or fully discounted rates to local nonprofits that would benefit from a service like a board engagement survey, strategic planning retreat or team building session.
